What is openinnovation.me?


We help brands innovate together with users of their products and projects. We also help users get paid for participating in innovation.


How can users innovate with brands?


You can add an innovation to any brand, product, and opportunity. If you add an innovation to an opportunity you can receive a cash reward. In every case open brands will be able to see your innovations and learn from them.


How can users get paid?


If you add an innovation to an opportunity you are eligible to receive a payment reward from a brand. This is usually 200 EUR. When you add an innovation, someone working for the brand will see it and declare it a winner. You will receive an email how to proceed with getting paid. Brand will pay you directly. We do not manage payments, but if you have issues with payment email us and we will get on it right away.


Who are you?


openinnovation.me was founded by Nikola Tosic, Andrea Toniolo, and Nebojsa Dolas. We are a company of 14 people based in Vicenza, Italy, and Belgrade, Serbia.


Why are you doing this?


We believe that innovation should be more open, more participatory. This is good for brands and for everyone else. Many products and projects are not as good as they could be because they do not listen to users, because it is too hard and they do not know how. We are trying to solve this.


Do you have any algorithms?


Yes. We use simple algorithms to list brands and products.

Products on products page are listed by these parameters, listed by priority:
- Opportunity budget by opportunities that include a product,
- Number of importants on all innovations and mentions that include a product,
- Number of innovations and mentions that include a product,
- Alphabetically.


Brands on brands page are listed by these parameters, listed by priority:
- Total innovation budget including public and group only opportunities,
- Number of importants on all innovations and mentions that include a brand,
- Number of innovations and mentions that include a brand,
- Alphabetically.


Is your content curated?


Yes. Our curation is mostly focused on removing spam like content. If you honestly want to share innovation content we will support and help you do it. You can always contact Marijana or Nikola for help.


What type of content is not allowed?


Tobacco or any similar products, weapons or anything else specifically designed to kill people, anti-science, illegal products and projects, and spam. Tobacco brands are forbidden, while defense brands are allowed to post innovations not related to weapons. We will allow innovations in porn industry but, obviously, not porn itself.

What do you consider a brand?


Brand can be a company, non profit organization, government institution, a project, sports team, or a group of individuals.


How can brands use openinnovation.me?


Brands can purchase a brand profile with a custom url (openinnovation.me/brand-name) and access to apps.openinnovation.me. This brand is then listed as an OPEN brand. Meaning it can receive innovations, publish opportunities, and assign winners and rewards to users.


app.openinnovation.me features include:


- Brand profile - management of the brand profile,
- Innovations - publishing of innovation posts in apps only, for internal users, to groups, or publicly on openinnovation.me,
- Groups - inviting openinnovation.me users or anyone with an email to participate in a closed innovation group,
- Opportunities - publishing and managing innovation opportunities, internally, to groups, or publicly,
- Innovators - list of all users and customers whom you can innovate with,
- Products - product portfolio.


What are the benefits for brands?


We believe that innovation needs to be more open and include more feedback from customers and end-users. Benefit of being an OPEN brand on openinnovation.me are:


- Publish unlimited number of opportunities,
- Promote the brand and products as innovative,
- Position the brand as open to cooperation.

Who owns openinnovation.me?


Nikola Tosic, Andrea Toniolo, and Nebojsa Dolas own BEMapps.com doo - a company based in Belgrade, Serbia - which owns openinnovation.me.


How is openinnovation.me funded?


Brands are charged a flat fee for an annual access to apps.openinnovation.me. openinnovation.me does not take a share of innovator rewards.


Who owns the ideas described in innovation posts?


openinnovation.me does not manage the ownership of ideas. Our goal is to help innovators and brands communicate easily, and for innovators to be paid. We do not manage the ownership of ideas or any other ownership. Intellectual property rights and other forms of idea and content ownership should be managed directly by innovators and brands, and are subject to laws of their locality.


Who publishes opportunities?


Opportunities are published by brands using openinnovation.me. Just like innovators add innovation posts, also brands can add innovation posts and opportunities.


Who sees innovator data?


When innovators add innovation posts tagged by brands, brands can see who the innovator is and all the data they saved in their profile. Brands use apps.openinnovation.me where they can manage their profile, opportunities, rewards. Anyone who brands allow access to apps.openinnovation.me will see the data.


Innovator data is also shared with other companies as stated in our privacy policy. openinnovation.me uses products of these companies. We allow embed of Youtube videos. MailChimp is used by apps.openinnovation.me so brands can invite people who already are on their newsletter list.


Are openinnovation.me opportunities and innovation rewards competitions?


No. Rewards are offered by brands to innovators for their innovation posts. Goal of rewards is to reward content production which is useful for both customer education and company innovation. Rewards are not competition but a payment for value created.
